    Customers of Cingular use lock\line®,LLC as the provider for Wireless Phone Insurance. The program provides you with quality, comprehensive service and a smooth claim filing process. The monthly premium will appear on your Cingular statement.

    Key information regarding the insurance coverage:
  • Premium: $3.99 per month
  • Deductible: $50.00 per claim

    A maximum of two (2) replacements of insured equipment will be allowed in any one twelve-month period, beginning with the date of the first replacement. After the second replacement in a twelve-month period, the customer will be canceled from the program. They can re-enroll twelve (12) months from the date of the second replacement.

    Coverage Includes
  • Your wireless handset (includes phones and wireless handheld devices).
  • One (1) standard battery (as part of a covered wireless telephone loss).
  • One (1) standard charger.
  • Accessory coverage included at no additional premium includes: One leather case, or one vehicle power charger or one ear piece, and, if applicable, one SIM card per claim.

    Filing a claim with lock\line is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
  • 1. If your wireless phone is lost or stolen, call Cingular Customer Service at 1-866-CINGULAR to temporarily suspend your wireless service.
  • 2. Report a lost or stolen wireless phone to the police and obtain a police report number.
  • 3. To file your claim, call lock\line, toll-free, at 1-888-562-8662, within sixty (60) days of the date of loss.

    Call Forwarding lets you forward your incoming wireless calls to another phone number. Airtime charges, plus any applicable long distance and/or roaming charges, are incurred for calls forwarded via the wireless network.

    With Call Forwarding Activated:

  • Incoming calls will be forwarded as you can continue to make outgoing calls from your wireless phone.
  • When the telephone number to which your calls are being forwarded is busy, callers to your number will receive a busy signal.
  • To change the number to which your calls are forwarded, first deactivate the feature. Then, repeat the instructions as listed below to forward your calls to the new number.

    Instructions for Use:

    To Activate Call Forwarding:

  • Scroll through the menu and select "Settings."
  • Scroll down to "Call Settings" and select it.
  • Select "Forwarding."
  • Scroll to appropriate Forwarding option and then select it. (For example, "Forward All Voice Calls" or "Forward When Unavailable.")
  • Select "Activate."
  • Follow menu prompts and enter the 10-digit number to which your calls should be forwarded.
  • Select "OK."

    To Deactivate Call Forwarding:

  • Scroll through the menu and select "Settings."
  • Scroll down to "Call Settings" and select it.
  • Select "Forward All Voice Calls" (or other active Forwarding option).
  • Scroll to "Cancel" and select "OK."
  • Forwarded calls are billed airtime from the time the call is answered until it is ended.

    Mobile to Mobile Text Messaging allows you to create and send short text messages (160 character maximum per message. Includes the name of field if used: From, Message, Call Me Back At and Subject) from your Cingular wireless phone to other Cingular wireless phones. Text virtually anyone with a wireless phone in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda! Just send your text message to their 10-digit wireless phone number. You can also receive messages from other customer's phones.

    AOL Instant Messenger (AIM®) or Yahoo! Messenger users can send instant messages directly to your wireless phone. All they need is your Cingular Wireless 10-digit phone number.

    E-MAIL MESSAGING
    Your wireless number is your e-mail address! Your phone's e-mail address is your 10-digit mobile number @mobile.mycingular.com.

    WEB MESSAGING
    Anyone with Internet access can send you personalized text messages directly from our Web site, www.cingular.com, to the display of your phone.

    INFO ALERTS
    Get news, stock quotes, sports scores, entertainment news or other information send to the display of your wireless phone. Choose topics by using Cingular's My Wireless Window.

    Mexico Preferred International Long Distance Rate

    Enhanced Voice Mail

    (Access your mobile phone messages from any touch-tone telephone)

    Basic Voicemail is an included feature and has no recurring monthly charge. Callers are automatically forwarded to the voicemail system when the customer's phone is turned off, out of a coverage area, or the line is busy. Callers have the option of leaving a voice message or a numeric page that is delivered directly to the handset. A Message Waiting Indicator on the handset notifies customers of new voicemail messages.

    There is no charge to the subscriber for callers to leave a voicemail message, send a numeric page, or any associated Message Waiting Indicator. Regular airtime charges apply when retrieving voicemail messages. The customer's phone must be turned on, and in a covered area, to receive a numeric page or Message Waiting Indicator.

    For security purposes, Voicemail messages can only be retrieved with the wireless phone, and the customer is also required to establish a password to access the system. You can have the option of accessing your messages from any other touch tone telephone when you sign up for Cingular’s Enhanced Voice Mail.

    Each subscriber can have up to 50 messages in their mailbox (new and/or saved) at any given time.

    Unretrieved or skipped messages will remain in the mailbox for 8 days. The Message Waiting Indicator will display until all new messages have been saved or deleted from the mailbox. Erased messages that are not saved before the end of the current voicemail session are permanently deleted.

    Setting Up Your Voice Mailbox
    Press and hold the 1 key to record a personal greeting and establish a security password. A password is required to access the voicemail system.

  • Your password can be from 4-10 digits
  • It cannot begin with a 0
  • It cannot be a repetition of numbers, such as 2222
  • It cannot be a simple string of numbers, such as 1234 or 6789
  • It cannot be your wireless phone number

    Accessing/Navigating Basic Voicemail
    Most handsets include a dedicated "speed dial" key for voicemail access. The handset will be automatically provisioned with the appropriate access number. On most handsets the "speed dial" key is the number "1" key. Press and hold the "1" key until the voicemail prompt can be heard. Refer to your Handset instruction booklet for information on accessing voicemail from your particular handset.
    Listen To Messages

  • Access voicemail from your wireless handset
  • Press and hold the 1 key.
  • Enter your personal passcode and press the # key.
  • Follow the system prompts to review your message(s)
    Save Messages
  • After listening to a message, press 2 to save the message in your mailbox (saved messages can be stored for up to 8 days)
    Rewind
  • While listening to a message, press 7 to rewind 10 seconds, or 77 to rewind to the beginning of the message
    Forward
  • While listening to a message, press 9 to go forward 10 seconds, or 99 to forward to the end of the message
    Erase Messages
  • After listening to a message, press 3 to erase the message
  • Messages accidentally deleted during a call can still be reviewed and saved as long as you DO NOT end the voicemail call. Once the voicemail session has ended, erased messages are permanently deleted from the system and cannot be retrieved
  • After deleting the message, follow the voice prompts to "Review Your Deleted Messages" - after reviewing the deleted message, press 2 to save the message in your mailbox
    Skip Messages
  • While listening to a message, press # to skip to the next message, or press ## to skip to the next type of message (toggle between your New and Saved messages)

    Note: Messages that are listened to, but not saved or deleted will remain in your inbox as NEW messages. The Message Waiting Indicator on your handset will remain displayed until all new messages have been saved or deleted.

    With FastForward, you can place select wireless phones into a device (cradle) that automatically forwards incoming wireless calls to a local (direct dial) wireline phone.
